Conference Schedule (7th December, 2018)

X Topic Abstract

Innovation is the driving idea behind a majority of current emerging technology projects. As these technologies become more mainstream, a more proactive and balanced approach to business value and innovation is what will create truly impactful projects. This talk covers true innovation: innovation within constraints. Using lessons learnt in enterprise-level projects that can be used at any level of project implementation.

Key topics:
- Innovation within constraints
- Creating business value in AI & RPA projects
- Balancing innovation with value
- Lessons learnt from industry projects

Speaker Profile

Jeremiah is focused on creating machine learning, natural language, and deep learning projects valuable and relatable. He has received numerous industry awards, recently recognised for industry contribution as one of the Top 25 Analytics Professionals in Australia for 2018 by the IAPA

X Topic Abstract

As the rate of change continues to accelerate and competition for companies continues to intensify – the need to transform and ‘digitise’ is becoming the mantra for so many companies. In fact, digitisation is one of the ‘hot topics’ amongst many corporates, executives and consultants. Despite this attention – somewhere between 60 - 84% of these programs fail to deliver results and transform their businesses.

The purpose of this talk is to discuss and explore successful and less successful digital transformations that the speaker has been involved in and identify some common patterns to help attendees set up their programs for success

Speaker Profile

Peter has helped some of Australia’s largest corporations and government departments realise benefits from adopting digital, agile & ‘new ways of working’ as an enterprise delivery coach, program manager and advisor. Much of his time is spent working with clients who have engaged him part way through the program to help re-establish foundations and set the programs up for success. Peter will be sharing practical stories and examples from his recent programs.

X Topic Abstract

This would look at the advancements currently being made in application layer automation on one side... and the ever decreasing cost of AI solutions on the other.

Both of these could squeeze RPA into a very thin window of opportunity.

Speaker Profile

Probir Geoffrey Dutt is a seasoned BPO leader and customer experience strategist (specialising in RPA, cognitive automation, data analytics and cyber security) as well as multi-instrumentalist songwriter, composer and screen writer. He has composed scores for 14 films including the Australian feature ‘The Three Ages of Sasha’ which screened in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and a number of international festivals.

X Topic Abstract

Companies are investing heavily in analytics, machine learning, data science, AI, RPA and other related technologies. The belief is that such technologies can drive better decision making to improve the business outcomes and reduce the operation costs. However, there is a real gap between this belief and the idea for what a decision really is. As an example the reducing of operation costs by implementing bots and RPA technology is a very simplistic assumption that numbers do not support.

The missing link here to understand what matters to business, which is the “Operational Business Decisions”. The decisions must be modelled explicitly in such a way that a normal business user can visualize and understand. The “Decision Centric” approach should be the apex of all the efforts in any technologies i.e. Data analytics, AI, RPA, Machine learning and etc. in order to deliver the real value to business.

Speaker Profile

Arash is a serial entrepreneur that has a different view point in solving business problems in innovative ways. He has more than 20 years experience in building enterprise-grade solutions across different industries.
